Alex garant

Canadian artist Alex Garant (b.1982), often referred to as the Queen of Double Eyes, is a pioneer in figurative op art. Her distinctive drawings and oil paintings feature portraits that almost appear to vibrate, created through her use of symmetry, superposition, and repetition. Garant carefully selects her compositions and colors to achieve this unique effect. She explains, "To me, the vibrancy created by the double exposure is more than just an optical illusion. It represents life emerging from a structural setting." After surviving a heart attack at the age of 30, Garant has a profound understanding of life’s resurgence, an experience that inspired her to fully commit to her art career.
