Tosin Olusegun Kalejaye is a self-taught contemporary visual artist who primarily works with charcoal, acrylic, and oil on canvas and archival paper. His work draws inspiration from his childhood interest in portrait drawing. Kalejaye uses his art to convey his ideas and impressions about modern society and the daily experience of Black people. His artistic genre, deeply rooted in storytelling, representation, identity, and historical documentation, aims to evoke emotions in viewers. He initiates simple social conversations into ultra-practical actions and frees the consciousness of each individual.
